Introduction
The pictures in this album are of the Almonte General Hospital and Fairview Manor donor recognition system that Stephen Brathwaite and I created and installed this summer.
Stephen designed and built the interior component using mouth-blown glass, painted, fired and bolted to plate glass panels which feature the names of significant donors to the Redevelopment Project.
My contribution was to sculpt and cast a bronze head emerging from the shell of a head constructed of bronze maple leaves which rests on a 7.5 foot granite column inscribed with the words "The heart of the community is revealed through its generosity of spirit", a phrase coined by Stephen. This sculpture rests in the centre of the "Circle of Life Garden" designed by Kevin Cooney.
